VCA Brakelining database - frequently asked questions (FAQ's)

Q: I have a brake lining package which is not shown in the database download - why isn't it there?
A: There are a number of possible reasons for this. Firstly, the lining may be outside of the scope of Regulations and as such is not required to be listed. Secondly, the lining may be approved as a replacement lining in its own right (and hence bear an "e" or "E" mark). Additionally, the lining may be relatively new and has not yet been added to the database. Finally, the manufacturer may have failed to supply data to VCA.

Q: Who do I talk to about the enforcement of the marking and packaging requirements?
A: If you are a consumer you need to discuss enforcement with your local Trading Standards office. A list of offices can be found here (page opens in a new window).
