New Car Fuel Consumption

This page was last updated on 19th October 2021

Climate Change is recognised as one of the greatest environmental threats facing the World today and it has long been appreciated by governments that reducing the impact of the motor vehicle has an important part to play in addressing this threat.

VCA has developed a database listing most of the cars available for sale in the UK. The purpose of this database is to:

  • inform buyers of cars about how they can reduce the impact of their vehicle on the environment
  • identify vehicles that offer lower fuel consumption or use alternative fuel types

The Car fuel data, CO2 and vehicle tax tools

This set of web-enabled tools provide details of the fuel consumption, exhaust pollution levels and noise levels of most new cars on sale in the UK, and there is also the option to download the content of the database for those wishing to evaluate the data further.
